We're excited to announce our Battle for the Bursary event kicking off May 24.

We've now selected the three young food finalists, Dr Will'sCHAM and Department 22, who'll be going head to head to see which will be crowned winner of the much coveted bursary.

Our entrepreneurs will be pitching to an impressive judging panel of food industry experts including BBC Good Food Hub Director Lulu Grimes, Evening Standard columnist and freelance journalist Victoria Stewart, MD of street food market KERB Simon Mitchell, Snaffling Pig Co-Founder and 2017 Virgin foodpreneur winner Andrew Allen, Sainsbury's Snacking & Healthier Buyer Lauren Orchard and Business Development Director for New Covent Garden Market Helen Evans.

Come and watch the live event as it unfolds. Tickets are free - sign up here.

The Food Exchange Bursary

Here at the Food Exchange we're creating London's greatest cluster of food entrepreneurs. If you work in food, we want you to be part of it. And with our new bursary, you could be joining us here for free.

Our bursary will give one young food business a free office for a year, worth £20,000. From manufacturers, producers, recipe developers and stylists, to photographers, journalists and PRs, we're open to entries from any UK-based food business less than three years old.

The winning business will get a year rent and service charge free in one of our contemporary, light-filled private studios with desk space for six staff. The office comes with air conditioning and wifi included, as well as access to shared meeting rooms, kitchen amenities, a rooftop terrace, showers and bicycle storage – all just 10 minutes’ walk from Vauxhall station. The winning company will also get three months of free PR or social media consultancy from leading food and drink agency Storm Communications.

Go to foodexchange.london/bursary to apply and learn more.

We'll invite three shortlisted businesses to pitch to our judging panel of food industry experts including BBC Good Food magazine’s lifestyle editor Lulu Grimes, Evening Standard columnist and freelance journalist Victoria Stewart, MD of street food market KERB Simon Mitchell, co-founder of The Snaffling Pig Company Andrew Allen and business development director for New Covent Garden Market Helen Evans.

To apply, go to foodexchange.london/bursary and fill in our application.

You’ll need to submit up to 1,500 words and attach a supporting document about your business before midnight on Sunday 29 April.

We opened the doors to the Food Exchange in February this year. Spanning three floors, it's an incubator for innovators and the food stars of tomorrow. Winning our bursary will give one business the chance to become part of this incredible food community and grow amongst like-minded entrepreneurs.
