We’re searching for London’s most exciting food start-ups and entrepreneurs to join us here at the Food Exchange. One young food business will be awarded a bursary of one year rent free in one of our contemporary, light-filled private studios. Submit your application to become part of this incredible new food community, get the space to grow your business and the help you need to become a future food hero.

How to enter

If you’re running a food or drink business here in the UK that is under three years old, complete the application below by midnight Sunday 29 April. You’ll need to submit up to 1,500 words and attach a supporting document about your business. We’ll invite the three best entries to pitch to our judging panel on 24 May. One winner will be selected and announced shortly after. 

The bursary

One business will be awarded one-year rent and service charge free in a private studio. You’ll receive your own six-person office in a brand new building 10 minutes’ walk from Vauxhall station with BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating, floor to ceiling windows, wifi and data included, access to shared meeting rooms, kitchen amenities and a rooftop terrace. You'll also receive three months of free PR or social media consultancy from leading food and drink agency Storm Communications.

Terms and conditions

  • The Food Exchange office bursary competition opens on 09/04/18 and closes at 23:59 on 29/04/18. The three finalists will be contacted by 15:00 hrs on 11/05/18 and invited to pitch to the judging panel on 24/05/18. The winner will then be contacted and given instructions on how to claim their prize. All dates are subject to change.
  • To enter you must be a resident of Great Britain over the age of 18 with necessary permission to work here, and must manage or own a food or drink business, which is less than three years old.
  • This draw is not open to employees, partners and associated agents of or anyone concerned with this promotion.
  • The prize is a year rent and service charge free in an unfurnished, brand new office with space for six desks, a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, floor to ceiling windows, controllable air conditioning, wifi and data included, showers and cycle storage, with access to shared meeting rooms, kitchen amenities and a rooftop terrace. The winner will sign up to a one-year fixed-term lease and pay a refundable deposit of £5,000. The winner will be responsible for paying business rates. The move in date would be finalised with the winner for on or around 1st June 2018 and is at the Promoter's discretion. The prize also includes three months of free PR or social media consultancy from Storm Communications.
  • Sorry, no cash alternative will be offered and the prize is non-transferable.
  • The winner will be selected by the panel of judges, and their decision will be final.
  • If the Promoter is not able to get in contact with the winner within 5 days, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner will be drawn. It is the winner's responsibility to notify the Promoter of any change in contact information.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to reject fraudulent entries.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any technical issues, system or software failures encountered during entry into the promotion.
  • By entering, the winner gives their permission for their names to be posted on social media and for their company to be mentioned within press and marketing materials.
  • The entry instructions form part of the Terms and Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to accept and be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Entrants must read and accept the competition Terms and Conditions to be eligible. The Promoter reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions.
