During both lock-downs, Mission Kitchen have been working with their partners Chefs in Schools and Migrateful, to delivery nutritious food to school children and their families. Great companies, working together to fight food poverty.

We are looking forward to welcoming Mission Kitchen founders Charlie Gent, Chris Lumsden and Paul Smyth into our community. We will be interviewing them soon to get the insider's scoop, so look out for that on our social feeds over the coming weeks.

Community Spotlight. Bread & Jam 2.0 Festival, 19th-22nd October.

The Food Exchange hosted a virtual stand at the Bread and Jam Festival 2.0 where we met visitors, at all stages of their business development, to talk about the Food Exchange and how we support London's vibrant food entrepreneurs.

Bread & Jam helps emerging food and drink brands to launch, scale and grow their businesses, culminating at their annual festival where entrepreneurs can network with each other and industry experts such as Ishen Paran from Oatly, Jimmy Cregan's from Jimmy's Iced Coffee and Stephanie Johnson from Pollen + Grace; a hugely successful former Food Exchange community member.

Community Spotlight. Fantastic Festive Initiatives.

As we count down the days until Christmas, a time for kindness and giving, members of our Food Exchange Community have been busy planning charitable initiatives.

FoodCycle are a charity that supports people who are hungry and lonely by serving tasty lunches and dinners every single day in towns and cities across the UK. They are the charity partner for this year’s production of A Christmas Carol, which will be live streamed from The Old Vic theatre. To support FoodCycle in their mission, why not buy or gift a ticket for the performance? All donations go towards providing healthy meals to the vulnerable.

Manilife, who make the tastiest peanut butter on the planet, are donating all the profits of their Christmas crackers sales to support the Campaign to End Loneliness. Campaign to End Loneliness believe that people of all ages need connections that matter. Consider supporting this vital campaign, while enjoying delicious peanut butter from an independent British company at the same time! Together we can help to end loneliness.

City Harvest helps put fresh surplus food to good use in a sustainable way, by redistributing to organisations that feed the hungry. City Harvest have partnered with the social enterprise Advent of Change. City Harvest is included in the Premium Charity Advent Calendar. A new charity is revealed behind each of the 24 perforated doors, which each represent a £1 donation to the charity of the day; this campaign also keeps you informed about how your contribution makes a real difference.
